FIRST WEDDING AT MANGAHAO
HAGGARD—ROBINSON
A wedding in unique surroundings wa3 celebrated on Tuesday, April 19, in the heart of the Tararua Ranges at Mangahao Camp, when Phyllis, second daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Robinson, of Mangahao, was married to Mr L. Haggard (" Lucky") by the Rev J. Farnell, Vicar of Shannon, in the Y.M.C.A. Hall. The bride was given away by her • father, and ' was attended by Miss Lila Robinson sister of the bride, and two tots—Moreen White, and Master Jimmy < Hulbert, as train-bearers. Mr F. Haggard attended the bridegroom, as best man and Mr F. Procter was groomsman. A reception was held later when the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Robinson. In the evening a dance was held in the Y M. C. A. Hail, which was most beautifully decorated by the girl friends of ihe bride Mr and Mrs Haggard were the. recipients-- of numerous present from their many friends in Mangahao This is the first wedding to laKe place at Mangahao and was ••oite the event of the whole period of this camp's existence.
