THE EMPEROR OF FICTION AT HIS BEST For. colourful drama, high-powered action and beautiful scenic effects, “The Silver Treasure,” .which will be screened at the Maoriland on Saturday is said to be one of the finest pictures that have reached the screen this season. It was made from the novel, “Nostromo,” by that master of fiction Joseph Conrad and directed by Rowland V. Lee, whose genius created such photoplays as “Havoc” and “As No Man Has Loved. ” George O’Brien is seen iij the leading role of. .* ‘ The Silver Treasure ’ and as the spirited romantic, two-fisted Noatromo, chief of the cargodores, he has a role .that could not have suited him better had the celebrated Conrad written it for him. HOOT GIBSON ON MONDAY. “The Texas Streak,” a hilarious and breezy western comedy, packed with entertainment and delicious scenes, will be the feature attraction at the Maoriland Theatre on M<mday. With smiling Hoot Gibson as the star, the picture is utterly devoid of anything but entertainment. It travels like a prairie fire, from the opening scene to the final fade-out, with waves and ripples of laughs coming one upon the other almost without interruption.
