Nomina'inn? closed at noon on Thursday for the Shannon Mayoralty ami eight seat von the Borough Council, also for a'representative' on the Horowhcnna Electric Power Board. Two were received for the Mayoralty, one from tlusitting Mavor (Mr E. Butt), "he otbev being Mr W. All tiie sitting members aic candidates, while the new aspirants aie Mr Jas. Curran (farmer), who was a member of the present Council, but resigned his seat nearly six months ago; Mr W. H. Gunning,, who has already served on the Council; and Messrs Jas. Curraii (hotolkecper), D. WcLaggan and W. H. Christian.
