CLUB FORMED AT OTAKf
A successful meeting for the forma tion of a football club was held a Otaki last evening. About 40 peoph were present, and the Mayor (Mr Bran don) was in the chair. It was deeid ed to form a club and to endeavour U enter a senior, a junior and a third grade team in the competition. The se j mors and thirds are regarded as certainties and a strong effort will b, made to get the juniors together. A deputation h to wait on the Otaki Borough Council on Thursday, April 14 when it is hoped that a satisfactory arrangement will be made in regard to the use of the Domain. AWAHOUv COUNTY. A friendly game was played on the Foxton racecourse on Saturday between Awahou and County seniors. Both teams showed a lack of condition. There was no score in the first spell and the game was fairly even. In tna eecond spell County had the advantage towards the end and were unlucky in not scoriug on several occasions. At last they managed to get over in a scramble. The kick at the goal was not successful. Mr J. Smith (Levin) controlled the gam®. / The visitors were entertained at a dinner by the Awahou Club in the evening when an enjoyable social lime was spent. POXTON THIRDS v AWAHOU. Ihe Foxton Thiids played a friendly -came with Awahou Thirds supplemented by several Foxton juniors. Some brilliant individual play wan notice;ftb]e at. times.cn the part or Foxton font-combination was lacking. U£ Same ended in favour of Foxton. Mr % NaVille controlled the game.
