The Madrid correspondent of "The Times" reports an extraordinary < occurrence near a village in the provinc of Cuenca. : Shepherds: standing in a field h«ard a noise like a thunderclap, and saw the crest of a hillock covered with olne trees sink into the earth. Creeping to the edge of the crater. which measured 50 yards across, they heard sounds as of falling water, and attempted to plumb the depth weighted rope, which was lowered s!v feet without touching the bottom.
