MAORILAND THEATRE.
TOM MIX'S FIFTIETH PICTURE. “The Heart Buster” the latest William Eox production starring Tori: Mix, Avhich will come to the Maoriland Theatre on Saturday, has two important reasons Avhy no one should miss it . The first of these is the fact that it is the fiftieth picture in which Mr.- Fox features his great Avestern star, therby creating a record, unsurpassed in the annals of the motion picture industry. The second i.s the picture itself, which is fifty times better than the average “ western. ’ ’ There is a thrill in every foot of the entire film which' centres around a scheming foreign crook' Winning the girl Avith whom Mix, as a young ranchman is deeply in love,. When the girl announces her intention of marrying the foreigner Tom leaves her in cogitating mood. • He : cannot banish the picture of the successful lover from his brain AA'ith the result that he recalls him in, another part Avhich Avas nowise honorable. He rushes to tell the girl of his discovery but his unsupported charges only cause the girl to announce more fiimly her intention of marrying the man. With the job of substantiating the charges on his hands Tom flies into action. He stops at nothing and finally lands in jail i’as the result of kidnapping the Justice of jßeace and Minister in an attempt to delay the wedding ceremony. With the aid of Tony, his wonder horse, he makes a dramatic, but uproariously funnuy escape from the bastile. In the meantime the foreign crook is about to lead the girl up the stepS of the alter when Tom suddenly' breaks in with the damming, evidence. “HER BIG NIGHT.” LAURA LA PLANTE’S BEST ANDFUNNIEST. “Her Big Night” is probably the biggest night in anybody’s career, and the picturization of it, which will grace the screen at the local theatre on Monday, is one of the most diverting light comedy productions of the year.. Despite the presence in the cast of almost a dozen experienced and talented troupers, Miss La Plante is never in dangercf being overshadowed, no matter hoAV riotous the fun of the picture becomes. Her charming personality, and her inherent sense of comedy make her a star of very great magnitude. “Her Big Night,” is plainly.- and frankly farce comedy, nothing else. It starts Avith a very realistic, and therefore very funny, bargain-counter rush ■in a department store, contains frantic press agents trying to find lost movie stare, inquisitive reporters, trying to run down scandal stories about cinema celebrities, jealous husbands and wives attempting to find their respective mates and safeguard them from sirens and homeAvreckers.
