K record ascent of Mt. Egmont from the Dawson Falls House was made during the week-end, clipping four minutes off the known fastest previous time, states a Taranaki exchange. A month ago, Mr Murray, of Eltham, made a flying start of Egmont from the Dawsori Falls side in 2 \ hours, and descended in H hours. During the week-end, however, Mr Murray again elimbed, and thid time-broke by four "minutes the -previous record for the complete-.ascent and,descent of the : mountain.
