ST. PATRICK’S BALL.
A BRILLIANT FUNCTION. Last evening the annual St. Patrick's Ball was held in the Druids' HalL This event is always eagerly looked forward to by those who enjoy dancing under perfect conditions arid .last evening 's function was no exception to its predecessors, the ball being well filled, a large number attending from Levin and the surrounding neighbourhood and with the excellent flpor and fine -< dance music provided by the Jazzmanian Orchestra, everyone spent an enjoyable evening. As in the past, the hall had been tastefully decorated with green, black and yellow . streamer®, with greenery, nicely . arranged about the stage on which there were a number of easy chairs for those who wishe,d to look on at. the dancing. The duties of master of ceremonies'were in the capable hands of Mr .J. T. Bovis, who did all in his power to assure every- < one having a good, time.' The committee, under the guidance of 'their secretary, Mrs J. Henriessy,. had not overlooked the smallest detail in their ar- > langements, while the supper prepared by the ladies' committee was excellent arid needless to say was done full justice to; there being six sittings. Dancing was kept up until the early hours of the morning and we are safe in say- ‘ ing that the St. Patrick's Ball of 1927 was one of the best yet held During the evening extras were played by Mrs Butler, Miss Pickett and Mr S. Parsons (Levin). The frocks worn by the ladies were a beautiful lot and added largely to the gaiety of the function. The following are a few of the frocks wo noticed: Mrs E.
