PIGS IN WATER RACES.
Cr. McLeavey, at the meeting of the Horowhenua County Council on Saturday, asked the Engineer (Mr. W. N. Anderson) if he knew of anyone who had pigs running in the water races. The Engineer: I knew of one man, and I told him to remove them. Cr. McLeavey: 1 was told there wove several. The Engineer: There were dead pics in the race. It is a thing that has happened all over the district. Cr. McLeavey: I think anyone who allows it should be prosecuted.
