POULTRY KEEPERS.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. GOOD YEAR'S WORK REPORTED. AUCKLAND, March 2. The New Zealand Poultry Association commenced its 17th annual confer-, ence to-day. The president (Mr. T. Bruce) said he felt very satisfied with the past year s achievements. During the year two very determined efforts had been mad l to import egg pulp into the country, but thanks to the loyal action of the members of affiliated societies in carrying out the policy of the Association in endeavouring to fulfil the bakers' requirements during the peak season, and later in giving evidence before the Board of Trade, the Association had been able to convince the Board of Trade that the shortage which did exist had been brought :v bout by the attitude of the bakers and pastrycooks. In fact, the effort by bakers and pastrycooks had don,} much to convince the Board of Trade of both the Poultry Association's* sincerity and its ability to supply the requirements of the Dominion. i "I regret that at present there is i little chance of having an Export Bill brought before the House owing to t\n small proportion of our exports," declared Mr. Bruce. "I trust, however, that the conference will again urge the necessity of the registration of poultry lceepers, as I feel this one of the most important measures the industry requires at present. He believed that the prospects of the industry, were very bright.
