The letter came before the County Council on Saturday, when the chairman (Cr. I think the roads in the Tokomaru Riding were in very good order Avhen the totter Avas written and I think they are to-day. 1 wi*h to enter an emphatic protest against the club authorising their sec rotary to approach us in this matter. They' should at least be sure of theii fact's. Had they complained of ih Avhere it Avas under construction, theie might have been something in it. I, think the public realised that tne road ivas in course of construction, and accepted it in that spirit.'' The chairman moved that a protest be entered against the action of the Automobile Club.
