CONFIDENCE MEN REMANDED. LONDON, January 10. ' Francis Brearley and James Mason " were lemanded on, a charge of stealing v and receiving £lo>ooo to £15,000 from a Wellington architect, James Hector " McKay, also on a charge of conspiracy with 0 man not yet arrested to defraud ' McKay of £35,000. .It is alleged that the defendants un- * folded a scheme under which McKay -. handed over money ostensibly to seeure -' a share of £33,000 profits from gambling '* in franca by the gang.
