When Jack Hoxie is on the bill thero are always plenty of tense moments, and Monday's picture, "B'ustin* '; - Through,'' is no exception. It tells the / .-. story of Jack Savage, a young rancher, )' who' refuses to sell his property to John !• Men-it, father of Helen Merrit. Merrit is buying up ranches to sell them to a ■ water company, no* knowing that Harvey Gregg, a friend and a suitor for Helen's hand, is* planning to double \ cross-him. Gregg finds that Merrit has failed to meet some small requirement ; as to his land and obtains legal posses ; > ~ .sion of it. . Jack steals the Merrit pay- 1 V roll, but later learns that Gregg is not > playing fair with Merrit. He forces l ,j Gregg to sign a confession of his guilt -\ but is tricked out of it and forced to \ flee to the hills.. The sheriff starts after yJack who sends word he will be in, ••. town at noon on a certain day. A •, crowd gathers to see him arrested. Approaching the jail he sees the crowd and, fools it by sticking a dummy 011 his horse. Everybody chases the' dum- ,;" my rider and Jack slips into the sheriff's' '. office—capturing Gregg and his fdlow- 'y conspirators and reveals his trick to ,',s Merrit. The horses attached to a buck- y board in which Helen is sitting run off. -; Jack mounts a horue and ropes the wagon as it is about to go over a cliff /I while the wagon breaks loose from the f . frayed rope and is dashed to bits. Jack pursues Gregg across country, and captures him.
