RIVER AFFAIRS.
NOMINATIONS FOR NEW BOAED. Nominations for the Manawatu-Orou* River Board closed at noon yesterday, twelve being received for the nine vacancies. Elections will consequently be necessary in those sub-cßvitions where the nominations are in excess of the number of representatives to which those particular districts are entitled. The sub-divisions and the nominations for cadi are as follow: — , Moutoa.—Messrs B. G. Gower and W. S. Carter' (two vacancies). Oroua.—Mr A. Buchanan (cne va- ■>. Kairange. —Messrs R. Tanner, D. Buchanan, J. B- C. Harrison and N. Ir. Neilseu (two vacancies). , . Makerua. — : Messis A. W. Akers, A. Seifert, H. Barber and H. Akers (three vacancies). , * ■ Koputaroa. —Mr J. Richardson (one vacancy). . ■ . Elections are thus necessitated in the Kairanga and Makerua sub-divisions. These will be held on January 11. \
