SHANNON CRICKET CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The above meeting was h?]a in the Council Chambers on evening, there beiig a largo attßiulance of members and intending -members, which promises well for the coniJng cricket season, so far as Shannon is concerned. Mr Hemaiingsen piqsid'id. ' ' ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officials ,werj elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, the Mayor (Mr E. Butt); president, Mr J. P. Goodwin; vice-presidents, Messrs . L. Randall, G. G. Mitchell, H. Hook, J. Curran, F. King, A. Hunt, E. (Spencer, T. Moynihan, T. Thwaites, . C Franks. C. Young, A. Blackwood, J. W. Murray, J. A. Roach and A. A. Hibell; manage ment and selection committee. Messrs' P. Morgan S. Newth, T. Spring, G. He lmiugsen and M. Crawford; secretary, Mr R. * Bishop (re-elected). ' \ GENERAL. It was decided that the subscription for th 3 season be £l. After a good deal of discussion as to ways and means of raising funds to purchase, new matting and material it was decided to run a gusssing competition. The hope *as expressed thatthe public would rally round and assist the"Club in their effort. The chairman in reporting that the Council had acceded to the Club's reto assist them in patting down a new pitch on the Domain, expressed the Club's appreciation of the ouncil ; a assistance. It Avas reported that there Avill be no difficulty in putting a team in the field, as the secretary already had the name's of fifteen active mi-mbeis. As soon as the ticket is doAvn the chairman stated that members would be able to practic- every evening and he trusted that e* ,iy member would take advantage of this.'-pportuirity and thus enable the club to v ake .i creditable stand during the sea ton.
