* GOOD CLEARANCE OF STOCK. Messrs Abraham and Williams report a big yarding of cattle at the Levin saleyards yesterday, comprised chiefly of 3 and 4-year-old bullocks, P.A. heifj ers and steers for which there was a I poor demand. Prices for 3 and 4 year- ( old steers were up to £6 13s 6d, fat? I cows £5 12s 6d to £S, forward cows £3 j 4s to £4 17s Gd, store cows £2 4s to ! £2 10s, yearling Friesian bulls £3 to £7, I springing heifers £ 15s to £6. Fat hogj gets 24s 7d to 255, good store hoggets ! 19s, medium hoggets 15s lOd, small 2I tooth ewes £1 Os 6d. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., advise there was a good attendance of buyers at the sale, when there was a good yarding of cattle and pigs and a fair yarding of sheep. Competitionwas good and practically everything - was cleared. The following prices were realised:— Cattle. —Prime bullocks (medium weights £l6 10s to £l6 15s, light fat cows £6 to 8, forward condition cows £3 5s to £3 10s, stores 25s to £2 10s, rough 3-year steers £5 15s, 2-year steers £2 15s to £4 12s, grade Jersey yearling heifers £4 10s, grade yeai’liug bulls £2 10s to £3, springing heifers £4 15s, dairy cows £4 os to £9. Sheep. —Medium fat ewes 25s to 7d, fat hoggets 26s 9d, fat and forward mixed wethers and ewes 26s 6d. Pigs. —Good stores 32s to £2 3s, ined ium 34s to £2 6s, small 28s to 325, good weaners 27s 6d to 32s 6d, medium 26s 6d to 265, small 18s to £1 Is. .Pedigree yearling bulls, sold on account of Mr J. R. McDonald, brought from 6 to 14 guineas, 3-year-old steers from 10 to 20 guineas, while yearling pedigree Jersey bulls realised prices ranging between 7| to guineas.
