Frost played havoc with Otago Central fruit crops. Stone fruit suffered most, apricots being practically wiped out.
Over 50 tins of whitebait were caught at Foxton oh Thursday. All were shipped away to Palmerston North and Wellington. This is the first good “run” experienced there this season.

Two women, several rows in front, had risen to go out - , when a scene on the film attracted-) their attention and they stood motionless, blocking the short man’s view. “Sit down, please!” he culled out. but no move was made. “Stand up, then!” the short man said sarcastically, and much to his amazement, not unmixed with satisfaction, the tw r o women sat down!
