The Brisbane Commercial Travellers Association’s new secretary, H. V. McCabe, in the early nineteen hundreds was Australia’s champion leaper. At Brisbane suul-jumped 45 feet 5-|, inches, and followed up by broadjumping 22 feet 4in.
at Hobart. Both feats are Australian records. Later he gathered in the 440 yards hurdle race. He got his honour cap as a League footballer in 1913. Prior to 1913 McCabe was a clerk in the Quarter-master Sergeant’s office, Victoria Barracks, Brisbane. He is a native of N.S.W., and is 38,years of age.
