THEFT AT MARTON.

GAOL FOR TWO OFFENDERS. ( MARTON, Sept. 30. At the Magistrate’e Court this mornWilliam John Quinn, for the theft of cigarettes valued at £1 10s from Barton’s grocery, on Monday was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment without hard labour. Janies Andrew Thompson, for the theft of a watch and money valued at £4 15s from a residence near Marton received fourteen days’ hard labour. On a charge of the theft of a bicycle ; at Palmerston North he was remanded to appear there.
