ALLIGATOR’S PAW ON BOAT. BRISBANE Aug 1. Rising suddenly from the water in Baffle Creek, near Mackay, yesterday, an alligator put its paw on the nose of a boat, wherein a selector named William Rodhmann was approaching the right bank of the waterway, after a visit to another selector across the creek. Tlie boat rocked dangerously, and began to sink under the alligator’s weight. . Then, almost as suddenly as it had appeared, it slid back into the water. It is ten years since an alligator was seen in this stream.
