UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR FARMERS.

DEPARTMENTAL LECTURES AND DEMONSTRATIONS. The travelling farm school which visits Levin on Monday next, presents a unique opportunity for the man on the land to increase his knowledge of the various sides of his industry. The demonstrations and lectures arranged cover a wide field of subjects and are free to all who care to attend.

The following is the programme:— ' Opening address—9.4s a.m. Dairy cow demonstration (Mr B Roberts)— 9.45 to 11 a.m. Sheep breeding (Mr W. Perry) and wool (Mr J. Cook)—11 a.m. to lp.m Manures (Mr W. J. McCulloch—2 to 3.15. p.m.

Veterinary lecture (Mr Meade)3.15. p.m. to s'p.m. Pasture management (Mr E. Bruce Levy)—6.4s to 8.15 p.m. . Swine husbandry (Mr K. W. Gor ringe)—B.ls to 9.45 p.m. This organisation is intended to some, extent to replace the residential farmers’ Fanil School of the past. In bringing the school to thevarious centres it is hoped that farmers will appreciate it by attending in full force. 'lt is' a real genuine' effort to give farmers expert and practical knowledge free of charge. Questions are particularly asked for. The school will commence at 9.45 a.m. and continue until 9.45 p.m., and will be held in the Druids’ Hall. The lectures will be illustrated by lantern slides, and altogether it is proposed to make the whole day not only instructive but intensely interesting. Young farmers and ' lads learning farming, will readily realise the great benefit in attending. There is but little doubt that should be school be a success this time' the Department will arrange for another next year with a probability of more than one day.
