TOTHILL DEFEATS McGONACHYThere was a good attendance at Hook’s billiard room at Shannon on Tuesday evening to witness the play between Clark McConachy, the New Zealand professional billiard champion, and T. Tothill, North of England champion. After a level game throughout, of 750 up, in which Tothill received a handicap of 150, he proved the winner. The winner’s best break was - 148, McConachy putting up breaks of T 55 and 54. This game was followed by one of snooker between Tothill, and the local man, Gordon Smith, who received a handicap of 21. The latter after a good exhibition, won by 42. McConachy then played several fancy shots from every conceivable

angle, making the display a very interesting one. In conclusion a cue competition was held which was won by Mr C. Jennings.
