HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. The Management Committee of the Horowhenua District Rugby Council met last evening, Mr J. J. O'Connor being in the chair. Those also present were Messrs Emmett (Referees' Association), M. Winiata (selector), S. Austin (Foxton), F. ißobinson (Awahou), W. Neville (Foxton), W. Hannan (Wanderers), W. N. Anderson \ (County), 3. Procter . (Hui- Mai), • J. Rimmer (treasurer), and J. Casey (secretary). Hui Mai Juniors sought permission to .play D. Gardiner.—Not granted, as lie is already a senior player. ' , 1 WRONG JERSEYS. Mr J. Seiascia reported Ho.ru (Mana- , kau), Cole, Iylsby and Perry (Foxtoui i for wearing wrong colours on Saturday. Mr Emmett pointed out that the last three players were ex-Weraroa men who had been asked by the Foxton Club to play for them. Mr O'Connor said there was no excuse as they were all aware of the rule in this connection. Mr Hannan moved that, in future, clubs playing 'men clad in wrongly coloured jerseys, should' be fined at the rate of 2s 6d per player. It was ridiculous for Weraroa men, in Werairoad' jerseys, to play for Foxton and the onus was on the delinquent club. It was resolved that the Foxton, Hui Mai and Awahou Clubs be fined 2s 6d per man for the players wrongly uniformed ' MARKING OF GROUNDS. Mr W. Peters drew the commit*" '•; attention to the need for re-mark; Prouse's Paddock.— The matter has been dealt with by the Grounds Committee. . MANY TRANSFERS. P. Bakaraia, R.'St. Clair, .7. St. Clair J. Hereinaia, K. E.. Perry, and E. Skilton asked to be transferred from Weraroa to Wanderers. C, McLe'avey, H. L. Udy, J. Naliona, C. Dunn applied for a transfer from County B to 'County A, while R. Ransfield asked to be transferred from Hut Mai to County A.
J. Kilsby and G. Cole, Weraroa players, sought a transfer to the Foxton Club, and H. Walls from Weraroa to Shannon.N Mr .Robinson moved that all th" foregoing transfers be confirmed, provided each was a financial' member for his late team.. FOOTBALL DONATED. Foxton D.H. School thanked the Union for its thoughtfulness in donating a football.—Received. BUSH v. HOROWHENUA. Bush Union suggested July 14th for the Bush v. Horowhenua. game for the Bebbington Shield. Mr Winiata, selector, asked if there was any possibility of a match between Horowhenua and Man-awafn before that with the Bush team, in order to assist in the selection of i team for the latter fixture. The matter lias been held over until (the meeting of the Combined Union.
DRUNKEN PLAYERS. % Mr Neville (Foxton) again drew attention to players -appearing on a football ground while under the influence of drink. A, junior Foxton [player had been drank during the j Awahou—Foxton junior match played in Foxton. The Foxton delegate said he considered such cases 'should be subjected to drastic treatment, as these incidents were becoming all too frequent. Mr Hannan said the .referees should also see that players intoxicated, ( ' r partially so, shall not be allowed to play. Mir Procter moved that if any member of the committee .observes ■ «i player in that condition' he shall be reported lto the Management Committee—Carried. ■ The Foxton junior was suspended until he makes his appearance before the committee.
