The complete stud Friesian herd of Mr 11. R. Green, of Oakview, Kairanga, has been sold to Lichtenstein, Arnoldson and Co., Auckland. This herd of 111 head, is undoubtedly one of the best known and most successful in the Southern Hemisphere. Many wonderful record-breakers have been bred in it, including “Rosa Posch of Oakview,” with 718 lbs of better fat as a junior two-year-ohl, and Jessie Monaco Johanna of Oakview, with 7271bs as a junior two-year-old. Twelve members of the herd under semi official test averaged 739 lhs of butter fat. The price is. not disclosed, but Mr Green has received up to 600 guineas for individual animals in the past. Messrs Donald and Green’s imported bull. “Bell Farm Echo Sylvia Trojan,” was sold lo the same purchasers. The sale was made through Messrs Abraham and Williams /in conjunction with Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co.
