BANKRUPT’S DISCHARGE GRANTED WANTED TO STAND FOR. COUNTY COUNCIL. 1 “I have rather an unusual application to. make,” said Mr. \V. 1.-. b itzherbert to- Justice Alpers in the Supreme Court at Palmerston on Saturday when the sessions commenced. Counsel stated that an undischarged bankrupt whose discharge, was set down to 1 be considered with a number of others on Saturday w T as desirous of standing for a County Council election, nominations for. which had to be in at noon. (It was then 11.20 o’clock.) If his Honour would deal with the miter then, it would be possible for the nomination to go in. His Honour said that in the circumstances lie would .consider the discharge there and then, although he did’not like to keep the Grand Jury waiting. . ■ . After the matter had been gone into! a discharge was granted.
