FRUITGROWERS ALARM Elf. CHRISTCHURCH, May 3. Resentment at the growing hold of the Chinese in the fruit trade and their rapid spread into other trades, was expressed by a Canterbury fruitgrowers- meeting. It was decided to write to the Minister of Internal Affairs endorsing the action 1 of the Government in placing an embargo .on the entry of Chinese into New Zealand until the end of the year. It was agreed to bring the whole matter under the notice tof the Trades and Labour' Council.
