SCHOOL CARNIVAL MONEY.
HOW IT WAS SPENT. During .file pas: year members of the school cuinniiitee have often been asked when a balance sheet would be produced showing 'bow the money raised by the Queen Carnival in 1923 had been spent. At the meeting of householders held. last evening, the Chairman (Mr Tippler) presented the required document, showing that the money had been spent, most judiciously’ and that advantage had been taken of any subsidies that could lie ‘Obtained. A. summary of the balance sheet shows that as a result of the amount raised by the. carnival,'viz., £326, the . committee and previous committees have been able n> carry out improvements, and purchase furniture and playing apparatus for the school to ■the value, of £3BB 16s tld, and they have also set aside and spent £IOO for picnic to- Plimmerton, making a grand total of £4BB 16s Dd. Of this amount the Committee’s share has been £335 os '2hi. the remainder being made up by su. si dies received from the Education Board.
