KOPUTAROA—BUCKLEY DIVERSION INSPECTED. A COUNTER PETITION. Ou Tuesday a' flying survey was made of the suggested diversion of the Main Highway north via Koputaroa and Buckley by Dublin Works officers. ' Tlie party included Mr Hanna, chairman of the No. 9 District Highways Board, and Mr R. Ronayne, District Public Works Engineer, Mr W. N. Anderson, Horowhenua Couilty Engineer, Messrs Ivilsby (2), E. D. Bell and C. H. Hood, of Koputaroa, and Messrs Hyde and Thwaites, of the Shannon Chamber of Commerce. The route was thoroughly inspected and the Departmental Engineers will report in due course. Next day they went over the present route of the road via Ihakara to note the improvements intended under the scheme. We understand that a petition is „ being circulated and is being freely signed by residents on the present route praying that no change be made in the main highway as at present planned via Ihakara,
