INTER-CLUB CROQUET.
LEVIN VICTORIOUS. Inter-club apart of any sort is usually very interesting, and/ more often than not, promotes an added enthusiasm, both in point of play and attendance of individual players. In particular, Levin croquet had much added to it during the period of interclub play Avhich extended between December and March. Considerable improvement was evident in the play of members,' whether of the home or visiting. clubs. At first it was considered that possibly the financial out come of these competitions would be on the wrong side of the ledger, but the contrary has been proved, and the Levin Club has greatly benefited. The final match of the series was between Foxton and Shannon, in which the former won with a score of 100 to 61. In the aggregate, Levin was 47 points ahead of Foxton, the runnersup, the former securing a total of 40!) points against Foxtail's 362. Otaki came third with 349, Shannon next with -286, and Manakau 189. During the games all players gave of their best, and Levin deserve their decisive win. In the Foxton-Shannon match scores were as follows, Foxton being mentioned "first:—Singles: Mrs MeMurray (5) 22 v. Mrs Brown (5) 26; Mrs Moore (7) 26 v. Mrs Mason (12) 13. Doubles: Mrs Pearson (6) and Mrs Parkes (8; 26 v. Mrs Aim (12) and Mrs McLaughlin (12) 9. Mrs Owen (6) and Mrs. Bryant (8) 26 v. Mrs Watterston (12) and Mrs Roach (12) 13.
