NEW BRITISH FILM STUDIOS.
The condition of the British film industry has been receiving very serious attention in high quarters for some, bme past, and it is to be hoped that at- no distant date the industry will emerge from the grip of Hollywood and come into its own. A new, development recently announced was the formation of an influential company known as British National Pictures, Ltd., which. is electing studios at Elstree, in Hertfordshire, and will produce and' manufacture films there. The climatic conditions of die United Kingdom are unfortunately not favourable to open-air production of films m the general way, but tliis disadvantage is obviated by the production being carried out under cover. It is essential that the studios should be sound-proof, and to ensure this Bigsix Eyerite sheeting has been adopted for the wall covering, a contract loir 5000 squares having been secured by Bell's. Economy of construction is thus secured, for a light steel skeleton frame can be employed, cladded with Bigsix. The framework sufficient to .receive the first 600 squares is already in course of erection.
