. AN ENJOYABLE OUTING. Although the" weajther prospects for the annual school picnic to Pliminerton did not look too promising on Friday, evening, the weather toy Saturday morning was fine and continued so throughout the day with the result that a total ol 734 children and adults journeyed toy the special train to. the seaside where a most enjoyable day was spent in bathing, games and sports. Owing ■to the shortness of funds, the latter had not been provided for toy the committee, tout impromptu sports were held toy a number of gentlemen who took up a collection for prizes and thus added much the enjoyment of the kiddies. The return for home was made at 4.30 and during the journey the children were liberally supported by the committee with lollies and fruit, . Shannon being reached at 6.30 p.m., the majority (being tired but happy.
