MR MURDOCH OFFICIALLY RESIGNS THE MAYORALTY.

At the conclusion of the Borough Council meeting on Tuesday evening Mr W. Murdoch, who has been Mayor of tlie Borough of Shannon since its inception in 1916, officially handed in his resignation. The Deputy-Mayor (Gr. Butt) then took the chair. On the motion of Cr. Thwaites, seconded by Cr. Htook, the resignation was accepted with regret. It was decided (that Mr Murdoch's honorarium be paid to him to March 31st.
