SHANNON ATHLETIC CLUB.
Last evening the committee of the Shannon Amateur Athletic and Cycling CM> met to receive the report of the deputation wdio waited on the Borough Council for the purpose of discussing the laying down of a cy cl'e track on the Domain. Mr Whyte reported thait the Council had agreed, to allow from the Domain Fund £6O towards the work, providing tine Glu/b assisted .with the work. This was considered very satisfactory. . Messrs Curran, Bovis, and Moynihan were appointed to meet the Surveyor to arrange laying out the cycle track and football ground. A finance committee consisting of Messrs J. Curran and Brann, and Dr. Maokereth were appointed. it was decided to add to the programme a five mile cycle race. A suggestion was also made tat a gold medal be awarded to the winner of the most points in the cycle events, but nothiipg 1 was, done in this direction. The following officials were appointed: Handicapper and starter for the cycle, running and field events, Mt G. Watsons handicapper wood chopping and sawiing events, Mr Val Croon; starter, Mr Jas. Hallam; official time-keeper, Mr .T. Whyte (Toko- j inaru). ,
