GENERAL .COMMITTEE MEET. FINE RESULTS 0)F RECENT; SHOW. 1 The General Committee of toe Horowhenua A. and P. Association met on Friday night, Mr S. A .Broadibalit being in the chair. There were 18 members in attendance. Apologies for absence were received from five other mem- ' hers. Mr S. A. Broad/belt was appointed delegate to represent the Association , at a meeting ol A. and P. Associations to he held in Palmerston North for the purpose of appointing members to the ■Agricultural Board. The meeting will take place on March 2£. A motion was passed recommending the incoming committee to revise the rule in regard to prize-winning animals in the champion butter fat competition requiring them to be brought to the show. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all those who had voluntarily assisted in making the Show a success. ' Mr J. Kebbell moved that all cups and trophies be presented to winners on the second day of the' Show by the President or his deputy. The coming Carnival district, so far as the A. and P. Association is concerned, will probably be split up ■into three, one at Levin taking in the Whirokino Riding, one for Shannon taking in north of the Whirokino Riding and the Horowhenua County, and. one for Otaki, representing the district south of the Whirokino Riding to Paraparaumiu. A financial. statement was read setting out the result of the recent show The Dog Section showed a net profit of £4 13s-10d, while the profit derived from all other sections amounted to £l2B Us Bd, totalling £133 5s 3d for the whole undertaking. The shifting of the sheds and yards, together with the erection of new sheds on the present site has cost to date . £287 19s 3d, of which £79 5s 9d has been donated and £ls Us has been acquired by sale of firewood, etc., leaving a .balance of £l&> 2s Gd. The debits included ir the above statements include secretary's salary till the end of May, all insurances, and the year's rent of the ground.
