IN BANKRUPTCY.
ESTATE OiF W. RIDDLER. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of William Riddier, sharemilker, of Levin, was held at the offict. of the D.0.A., Palmerston, this week. In a statement to the D.OA bankrupt said: "I hand you a statement of cheques drawn irom my milking contract, showing £530 4s Id, .moneys .1 have received I supply the Levin Dairy Company. That amount includes calves and pigs, l.vvas milking 70 cow fc hist year and about 65 now. 1 paid instalments for my .creditors to Mr Blenkhorn, solicitor, of Levin, who paid the money out pro rata. I also paid Mr Bailey, of Woodville, £l2 18s 7d about six months ago. Mr Milne owns the motor car I was driving. There, was a sum of £45 owing and he took it back. The price paid was' £BO. I 'had paid £35 but this money belonged to my wife and daughter.' To' Mr T. H>. King (representing King Bros., carriers, Shannon) bankrupt stated that the first car he ban belonged to a Masterton gentleman. He had been at race meetings ioui days during the past 18 months. He was also at Foxton two days but dio not attend the Marion races. He diu not lose any money at these meetings. Bankrupt to Mr A. S. Mason (Mangahao Butchery) stated that he had not paid any accounts since the Mangahao Butchery judgment against him. He had only paid his s'on-in-IaAV wages for work done—haymaking, thistle cutting, etc. To Mr R. Evans (Pahiaitua) bankrupt stated that with wages he received when leaving the employ of Mrs Thomson, of Pahiatua, in July 192.2, he paid £5 off his store account anu distributed the balance, £27, ; amongst his creditors. A gramaiphone he sola to a creditor for £ls. To Mr King: My daughter bought the motor car with her own money; she had saved it. To the 1).0.A., bankrupt, stated that he had no banking or Post Office account. He had five rooms ihrnisheu but would not give £ls for all the furniture he had. To his solicitor, Mr Free, •bankrupt stated that lie paid Mr Bailey because there was a judgment summons, against him. There were no judgment summons unpaid at that time. lit went to the Feilding races to look for a ina nwho owed his wife over £b and he went to the Palmerston race:, for a similar purpose.
