SHANNON PLUNKET SOCIETY.

A meeting of the committee of the local Plunket Society Branch was held last Thursday afternoon. Present —Mesdani.es Hutton, Johnston, Tlmvaites, Hardie, McCulloch, Cronquest, and B. Spencer. The Nurse’s quarterly report showed the numlber of visits to ,the room by mothers wiith babies were—Nevemlber 51, December 56, and January 51. Hie Nurse had also made many visits to homes. The Society’s Nurse was visiting Shannon each week. For the purpose of raising funds to further the object, tiie Committee decided to hold a [baby queen carnival at the beginning.of the. first week in March and also to open the Carnival with a dance. A Farming, Town and Mangaore baby has already been promised: Hie Secretary (Mr B. Spencer) will be pleased to receive any offers of assistance towards this much deserving cause.
