TENNIS NOTES.

•The following will represent the local tennis Club against Foxton next Saturday few? the Newman Cup: Mrs Morgan, Miss Williams, Mrs Cronquest, Miss M- Brown, Mrs Bovis and Miss G. Jones, and Quarrie, Aim, Hennessey, Bartholomew, Picard and Bovis. It is four years since the local Club has held the Cup, having won it on that occasion from the Bulls Club. In the return match which was played at Bulls, the home team once more secured the coveted prize. Several ineffectual attempts have since been made to wrest the Cup from Bulls, and after the last trip the local Club practically decided not to attempt the 40-mile motor trip again, but now that the cup is nearer home, being held by Foxton, another attempt is being made.
