SATURDAY'S CRICKET.

~ LEVIN DEFEATSWERAROA. PHILLIPS BOWLS 8 FOR 22, Levin met Weraroa at the Weraroa Domain on Saturday and, for the first time in two seasons, beat, them, and, moreover, by an innings and 27 runs. Bennett, for health reasons, was unable to play, and was replaced by Fletcher, who contributed a useful 16 to Levin's total score of 146 runs. .Hunt's 40, with, Rose and D. Mackenzie's 22 each accounted, for a large proportion of the aggregate. Hudson's 17 marks a distinct improvement upon his previous showing. Phillips was the slimg / star among the bowlers and his 8 for 22 played havoc with Weraroa's wickets in their first innings. Had it not been for O'Connor, who scored 38 in the first innings and 21 in the second, the margin of defeat would have been even greater. The match was a complete, disappointment, as although it ,was anticipated by some that Levin would prove victorious, it was generally conceded that the final scores would not be very far apart in the aggregate. \ ' LEVIKL Fletcher, b Sloan .....' 16 Phillips, c.
