NEW YEAR'S DAY PICNIC.
(To the Editor). Sir _As one of the public who gave a donation in aid of the People's Picnic held at Shannon last New Year's Day, I would like to compliment the Committee for the arrangements made and the successful manner in which the picnic wia's carried out in'the face of such adverse weather conditions. Should the eonmut-k-e decide to hold a similar picnic next year I hope the wearther conditions will be more favourable, ..as I feel sure that is all Iha,t will be required Jo make it a very successM'l gathering. > .',,,,, As regards the financial side I hopt that- the committee will publish a balance sheet at an early date as 1 am anxious to know if the picnic was a financial success, and I would also like to know what is to be done 'wvith the;, money left over (if .any).— 1 am, etc., INTERESTED. .
