From the secretary, Domain Executive, stating that it had been resolved to wind up the Domain Executive and Uiat till the assets of rtilie Executive he to the Shannon Borough Council, and encl'Oisiiig a cheque for £lO7 2s 11(1, being the .amount at the credit Of the Executive.—Received. The Education Bioard advised that the library subsidy would be again iiivailable (this year. Quotations were received from Mr J.' I). Forno for the supply of dog collars for the coming year.—Accepted and Mr Findlay to be asked to collect the tax. during .the year. From Mrs. E. Nicol, librarian, making application for. a week's holiday at Christmas time.—-Request granted. ROAPMAN'S REPORT. , The. roadman (F. Haley) reported as follows:—We 'have screened and carted % yards of metal of which 46J yards was dumped in Vog-el street, 77J yards in. Grey street, 4£ yards in MargarAt atreert, 1\ yards, in Stout street, and, 10J yards .to the Cemetery. Have had grader over- sheehan street and the northern, end of Nathan Terrace, cleaned grass from around the monument, and all along the railway side of 'Plimmer Terrace. Two tons of cement have .been carted to the Cematery, and'4o tothey boxes carted on to the water mains. Have not (been afole to'tar any of. (the fobtpaths towing to unsettled v Four yarcls of unscreened ineital have been •carted on to eryce street. The screening and carfting of metal took eleven days for 96 yards. The .Mayor' irecomonended to . the Roads Committee, that' the footpath in Ballance Street be'attended to before {the holidays. -.-,;

This they did; rendering splendid service, and he thought they were entitled to same compensation. The Council appreciating the services rendered by the roadmen, the malion, with .the addi*ion that Mr H. Bu'tt be given full pay for cleaning out the gutters m the main streets oh one day ,in each Aveek, Avas carried. Cr. ThAvaites. recommended that the gutter in, the main streojt be cleaned up late on Christmas- Eve, but it was pointed out. by the 'Town Clerk that i this had been the practice in'the past; lit was resolved that all rates unpaid after February Ist incur a penalty of. ten per cenlt. The Mayor halted he had been asked by a ratepayer to. place before the . Council a complaint that the light' in ■Grev street- near Mr Hemmingseh's . was obscured by trees, Cr. Hook said he passed the spoit frequently and had never noticed that this was so.-<No action was taken. . Cr. Richardson -reported that a start has. been made to asphalt the poiths at the cemetery and eyery- • thing Avas satisfactory. It was decided io close the trough roads for grazing an December 20th. On account of tlie next usual meeting night falling on (the .Tuesday^be- • fore Christmas % was decided to hold the meeting next Tuesday evening.
