PIG PRICES FIRM. The weekly stock sale for pig vendors brought, some good prices on Tuesday, particularly with respect to porkers. There was an unusually large yarding of pigs. There were a few sheep, which sold at an average figure. At'times the bidding for empty heifers was slower than usual and one or two lines passed in. Beef, the quality of which was mediocre, did not create a very spirited demand. The prices were:—- • Sheep: Shorn 2-lo>oths 24s Bil, woolly hoggets 355. Cows, etc.—Springing heifers £3 ss, fat cows £5 to £6; fat heifers £4 7s .6rt; good vealers £B „16s, yearling heifers 3s to £2 ss:-stores 22s 6d to £3; 18-months Jersey heifers £3 ss, yearling steers. .£3 7s. cows and calves ■/poor condftion) £2 ss. .
