BEECIIAMS BORROWINGS. LONDON, Nov. 2. . In the action'brought by a moneylender, Samuel Glaskie, against Sir Thomas Beech;'m, and in the course of which defendant admitted that he had borrowed £20,000 to £25,000 'in 1924, and between £30,000 and £40,000 this year, the judge, delivering reserved 'judgment, held the interest demanded to have been excessive and the terms harsh and unconscionable. ' He accordingly reduced the rate of interest from' 100 to 50 per cent., and entered judgment for £7OOO. Glaskie had claimed £IO,OOO. representing £6OOO for' bills cashed, £2OOO money lent, and £2OOO interest.
