BOWLING.
■ To-morrow* afternoon the second round for the Triangular Shield will be played on the Shannon, green, when Levin and Foxton will play two rinks each against four rinks fiom the local Cluib. A meeting of the committee of. the Bowling Club was held on Friday evening when final arrangements were made for the official turning on of the electric light at the green, which will take place next .Saturday .evening. Already _a number o± members of outside Clubs have signified their intention of being present. A large attendance is anticipated and the public are invited to toe present. There will be novelty bowling competitions,' including blindfold drawing and the most exciting of all “La Bowla.” This will be the first time a La Bowla competition lias been introduced in this district, and the fun to be created from, this pastime will keep those present amused, for hours. .It is hoped to' be able to have the grounds illuminated My coloured lights, and if successful, the-grounds should present .a gay appearance, everything pointing to those who attend having a good evening's enjoyment. ~ ' , Next Saturday afternoon, the Gaia Dav arranged toy the Manawatu Bowling Centre will take place. Bmks will be visiting Shannon from all parts and given a fine day a good afternoon’s sport slm-dd eventuate. The Levin rinks will consist of Alonk, Pyke, Percy, and Bull fskip!: Smaill, Challies, Hawke and Clements, Junr. (skip). *
