FAT STOCK AT MANAWATU SHOW.
A well-known stock dealer asked n\ view, of the interest taken in fat stock classes at the forthcoming show that a ruling should be given re the classification of Ryeland cross sheep and lambs. The matter has been submitted to Ihe secretary of the Manawatu and West Coast'A. and P. Association, who states that the North Island conference has ruled that a. Ryeland being classed as a middle wool sheep is, if crossed with the lOngwooJ breeds to be classed as a lohgwool, the balance being in favqur of those breeds. It necessarily follows that if they are crossed with Downs they must be put under that classification. It will be as well therefore if those interested who contemplate exhibiting should give the breeding on entry form to avoid any trouble and dissatisfaction.
