Cr Curran reported that he: had . in- 1 spotted the drain on Mr Gardner’s property which empties on. to the I oxton road. Downes said he had inspected the drain and found there was a length, of about a chain or .more which had never been touched and he thought if this portion was cleaned and the weeds taken out it would lower the water on the road by about a foot. He said he had come to the conclusion that Mr Gardner was treating the Council as a joke over the matter. Cl’ Curran moved that Mr Gardner be written to requesting him to clean out the drain up to the road or pull 'down the fence. ' There was no seconder to C-i. cuiran’s motion, it being pointed out that Mr Gardner had already been written to on different occasions asking him to clean out the drain pioI)e JI the motion of Crs.
