MANY BUYERS—FAIR PRICES,
Pigs seemed to be a-popular offering at the saleyards yesterday afternoon and the entries in this Section were so heavy that the sale of dairy stock was a good deal later titan usual. Sheep were good and the prices obtained were even better than those obtained at last Thursday’s sale at Otaki.
The prices in the dairy stock class were on a par with previous recent sales;
Cows.—Fats £3 4s to £B, stores 35s to £2 10s, medium fats ss, good forward £3 10s to £4 14s, lat heifers to £5, springing heifers £4 11s to £5 12s. 6d, empty heifers £2 165,. empty store heifers £3 t)s, dairy £3 to £5 (poor quality). ■ Sheep.—Ewes in lamb 34s to 37s 6d, mixed age ewes In lamb to Southdown and Romney rams £2 6s 6d, small hoggets 17s 4d to 245, good ewe hoggets 325. 9d. / Pigs.—Stores 27s to 345, weaners 13s to 17s 6d, baconers £2 15s to £3-16s, breeding sows £3 ss. to £4 10s, porkers £2 4s to; £2 12s, small weaners from 15s to 235, small stores £l' Is to 255, heavy porkers £2 17s to £3 Bs, light porkers £2 4s, choppers £3 15s. With few. exceptions everything submitted for sale was disposed v of.
