A good deal of interest was recently taken in the visit of Dean Ingeg of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, to America. Some American exchanges have been finding amusement in the question as to how the name of “the gloomy Dean” should be pronounced. The Congregationtoist quotes the following lines which arc attributed to George Bernard Shaw: —
If you his temper would unhinge -\n<i his mpst sack'd riedits infringe Or. excommunicated singe Whore fiends forever writhe and
cringe Imploring that a drop of ginge— A ale mav on their tongues impinge Address him then as Doctor Inj-e.
But, if von prize the nroper thing Be sure vou call him Doctor Tng (Unless, your ignorance to screen, Von temnorise with Mister Dean), Rut b’o advised by me and cling To the example of the kin? Arid fearlessly pponounco. him Tmr. Then rush to hear him have his fiin? Tn Paul’s and places where they sing.
