M YK' 11. TO-MORRUW— PRESIDENT y„ CAPTAIN. A match lias been arranged for tomorrow on the local links, when teams picked by the president- and the captain will play. The team will consist of both men uuu ladies, and all members, are cordially invited, to take pari. I'layers ha\e seen paiied and tlieir respective partners will be posted at the golf house. Play may commence any time after 12.30 p.m. For the guidance of handicappeis all players are requested to hand in cards signed, and with the handicap entered.

On Saturday a ■Shannon team played a most enjoyable game of golf with a team, from the Manavutu Club. The day remained fine, and the greens were in first class order thanks to the strenuous work of Mr Ilayes. After some very exciting finishes Shannon managed to secure the honours, winning by 6£ to s}. The following is the result of ' play, Manawatu being mentioned first: Stevenson lost to Morgan; Ongley lost to Saxon; Stubbs lost to Seifert; Hubble lost to Mackereth; Keiller beat Gagliardi; Stallard lost to Spencer; Fergie halved 'with Johnston; Bendall beat Blackwood; Hewatt beat Burgis; Grant beat Goodwin; Hunter beat Jones; Birch lost tq Moody. The visiting team was entertained at luncheon at the Club Hotel; and by . the ladies at afternoon"tea at Hie goli house. Before leaving the course Mr Ougley, captain of the visiting team, expressed the appreciation of. the members at the hospitality shown them and for the very interesting day s golf they had so thoroughly enjoyed. They looked forward to another visit to Shannon. Next Saturday a match will be played by two teams picked by the president and the captain. The order of plav has not yet been arranged, but players will be matched as evenly as possible. In order to avoid congestion the match will commence as soon as possible after 12.30 p.m. As soon as players are paired they may start on their round.
