♦ - - ANNUAL MEETING. There was a fair attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Bowling Club held in the Pavilion oa Wednesday evening. The president (Mr Clayton) presided. The balance sheet, which was read and adopted, showed that the Club commenced their season with a debit balance of £33 17s 7d; subscriptions and donations and nett receipts from art union totalled £lB5 18s Bd, while the expenditure was £157 6s, leaving a debit balance of £5 5s sd. PRESIDENT'S REPORT. Tiie President in his report stated it was very gratifying to finish up the season with such a small debit balance, considering the amount of extra money that had been spent on the green, new implements bought, and improvements carried out to the fences and ladies’ pavilion. The Club had sent two rinks to the Dominion Tournament, two rinks to the Mamiwatu Centre Tournament and two rinks to Wanganui and one to the Nelson Tournaments. The Club bad not been successful in winning the Shield but nevertheless had put up some good games. This is the first year we have had the Croquet Club with us, and it is pleasing to note the progress that the Club has made. All their material has been

paid for and thanks is. due to Mr J. V Burns for his assistance in this matter. The Croquet Club have also paid to have their lawn extended 18 feet. Difficulty has been found in the past years in finishing the singles, pairs and rink games owing to die difficulty of members observing different week day holidays.
