GOLF NOTES.
MEDAL AND TROPHY TO-MORROW To-morrow, on the local links, the June medal match will be played. Men over 18 holes, ladies 12. Members on this occasion will choose their own partners. The Club is especially grateful to Mrs E. W. Spencer, of Wellington, for the offer of a trophy to be played for by the ladies to-morrow. The match will be played in conjunction with the medal round, but will be over 15 holes instead of 12. The first 12 will count as medal score, the whole 15 as trophy score. It is hoped that there will be a record entry for both matches.
The King’s Birthday tournament proved a most delightful day’s sport. There was a record entry, and the day remaining fine and the greens being in first class order, enthusiasts enjoyed to the full the best any sport caii give—congenial association, beautiful surroundings, and the full sense of having spent a profitable day’s outing. The lady members in their ever pleasant and happy manner dispensed afternoon tea, at which several visitors and golfers were entertained.
The ladies’ tournment was won by Miss E. Saxon and the men’s by A. H. Morgan. It is very gratifying to see that such a young player as Miss Saxon, should put .up such a good score.
There is every likelihood of a match for the men with a Manawatu team on June 13th, but as this is not yet definite no final arrangements can be made.
